[NEWS] Girls’ Generation to Perform ‘PAPARAZZI’ on ‘Music Station’

Girls’ Generation is set to perform on TV Asahi’s “Music Station” on June 22nd, following the release of their music videos for “PAPARAZZI” on June 15th. The official release for this Japanese single will be on June 27th. This is not the first time Girls’ Generation will be performing on “Music Station”, with the last time being for the Japanese promotion of “MR. TAXI”.

Girls’ Generation has always amazed viewers with their synchronized dancing and powerful vocals on “Music Station”, so anticipation is running high for this performance since the choreography for “PAPARAZZI” is quite challenging compared to some of their previous singles. Other artists who will be performing are Linkin Park, Kat-tun, Maeda Atsuko from AKB48, and Kuwata Keisuke.

Girls’ Generation will also be performing at SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Tokyo on August 4th and 5th at the Tokyo Dome.

[NEWS] Girls’ Generation to appear on ‘Music Station’ with Linkin Park

Earlier today, the popular Japanese music program, ‘MUSIC STATION’ revealed the guest lineup for their upcoming June 22nd broadcast.

Girls’ Generation will be performing their upcoming Japanese single “Paparazzi“. Additionally, it was revealed that famous American band Linkin Park will perform their latest hit single, “Burn it Down“.

Linkin Park is a multi-platinum winning band which includes Korean American member Joe Hahn and Japanese American member Mike Kenji Shinoda.

Other guests on the episode include KAT-TUN, AKB48‘s Maeda Atsuko, and Kuwata Keisuke.

[NEWS] SHINee’s Key shows his support for f(x)’s ‘Electric Shock’

SHINee‘s Key took to me2day to display his support for the comeback of fellow labelmate f(x).

On June 14th, Key attached the above photo and wrote, “The horse head mask of f(x)’s volunteer, Kim Key. I grasped the album’s concept perfectly. Hahahahaha“.

In the released photo, Key is wearing a horse mask and holding f(x)’s new album ‘Electric Shock‘.

Netizens who saw the photo commented, “Key shines even when his face is covered“, “It’s great to see groups supporting each other“, and “I hope both SHINee and f(x) continue to be successful“.

[NEWS] Super Junior Ryeowook’s impresses with his ‘Immortal Song 2′ performance

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook recently displayed his singing talent while recording for ‘Immortal Song 2′.

Following behind the footsteps of fellow Super Junior members Yesung and Kyuhyun, who have previously performed on KBS‘s ‘Immortal Song: Legendary Folktale Songs’, Ryeowook sang a cover of Yang Hee Eun‘s “White Magnolia” for the popular show.

Before performing, Ryeowook calmly explained to the audience, “[Because] I personally like Yang Hee Eun sunbae-nim’s song, I will deliver my own version of it.“ He proceeded to then display a singing ability that seemed more remarkable than what he has shown through previous idol activities. The audience members as well as fellow singers listening in the waiting room were reported to be shocked with his great performance.

Both the fellow singers on the show as well as the MCs later praised Ryeowook’s singing, as they said, “He has a sweet and beautiful voice,” “His performance was focused and powerful,” and “His performance was the kind that left a lingering sound in the room.”

The episode in which Ryeowook displays his abilities will be broadcasted on June 16th.

[NEWS] YoonA is deemed the “Goddess of Victory” by baseball fans

Girls’ Generation‘s YoonA was recently spotted attending a baseball game at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium located in Seoul.

YoonA was seen on June 15th watching a pro-baseball game between the Doosan Bears and the Samsung Lions. As she was seated in the cheering section of the stadium, it seems YoonA attended the game as a fan of the Doosan Bears.

While watching the game, YoonA had also encountered singer Seo In Guk who sang for the OST of her KBS drama ‘Love Rain’. However the two differed on which team to root for. As Seo In Gook, whose hometown is in Ulsan, openly supported his Samsung Lions. He spoke to YoonA for a little while during the game before parting ways.

YoonA showed her dedication for the Doosan Bears as she stayed in her seat throughout the whole game. Occasionally YoonA would be greeted by flashing cameras and fans, but the star would remain unperturbed as she would reply with bright smiles and cheerful answers to people’s requests. Upon seeing her kind behavior, the Doosan Bear fans have affectionally deemed her the “Goddess of Victory”. Apparently, prior to this game, YoonA would have a tendency to keep to herself during the opening of baseball matches, so this shift in attitude was a welcomed change.

As a result of their hard work and YoonA’s support, the Doosan Bears won the game with a score of 4 to 1, thus securing their first victory for the weekend.

In other related news, although Girls’ Generation member Jessica supported the Doosan Bears’ rival, LG Twins, by making an appearance in the LG Twins’ game last May and threw out the first pitch for them. YoonA, as well as Seohyun, Yuri, Taeyeon, and Sunny, have affiliated themselves with the Doosan Bears.

[NEWS] Top idol groups to attend ‘SBS K-Pop Festival in LA’!

It seems fans on the West Coast are in for another treat as the ‘2012 SBS K-Pop Festival in LA‘ will soon be taking place!

The event has set up a Facebook page as well as Twitter, and announced its plans to hold a concert at The Home Depot Center located in Carson, California (near downtown LA).

The line up listed on the Facebook page currently includes top stars like Girls’ Generation, SHINee, 2PM, KARA, 4minute, B2ST, SISTAR, SECRET, and INFINITE.

Although specific details haven’t yet been confirmed, TS Entertainment has confirmed with allkpop that SECRET will definitely be attending the concert, which is scheduled to take place on July 6th.

[NEWS] SHINee to hold second solo concert ‘SHINee WORLD II’ in July

SHINee will hold their second solo concert, ‘SHINee WORD II‘.

On July 21st and 22nd, SHINee will showcase their charms and talents at the Olympic Sport Stadium in Seoul. The international fans will be happy to hear that SHINee will also be performing in other major cities across Asia as well.

In addition to having successfully finished their first Asia tour in 2010 through 2011, SHINee has already confirmed their global fame performing in places like New York, London, Paris, Moscow, and Sydney. Thus, their second solo concert is expected to receive much attention as well.

This Seoul concert will include a parade of SHINee’s hit songs as well as other songs from their previous albums. The five members plan to mesmerize the audience with their unique solo stages and powerful performances.

The tickets for the Seoul concert will go on sale on June 21st at 8 pm on an online sale site, G Market. The ticket buyers will face some stiff competition as this is SHINee’s first concert in Seoul in a long time.

Meanwhile, SHINee finished their promotion for their mini- album “Sherlock” and has been successfully touring throughout Japan for their arena tour since April.

[NEWS] Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon voted as the underclassman most wanted by male college students

After conducting the poll of the upperclassman most wanted by female students, this week, DC Inside asked the male users which female celebrity they felt had the most ideal ‘college hoobae‘ image.

The poll took place between June 5th to 12th, and users named top Korean celebrities like actress Lee Yeon Hee, KARA‘s Hara, miss A‘s Suzy, IU, 4minute‘s HyunA, 2NE1‘s Dara, SISTAR‘s Hyorin, After School‘s UEE, f(x)‘s Sulli, SECRET‘s Hyosung, T-ara‘s Jiyeon, Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon and Seohyun, and more.

But the female star that stole the spotlight was none other than Girls’ Generation’s leader, Taeyeon. Thanks to her powerful vocal talent and charm, Taeyeon received a total of 9,020 (34.1%) out of 26,436 votes, including votes from female fans who admire her easy-going personality and image.

Trailing behind Taeyeon was popular SM Entertainment actress, Lee Yeon Hee. Through her new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Phantom‘, the actress is showcasing a new side of herself unseen in her previous roles in movies such as’Hello Schoolgirl‘ and ‘My Love‘. Lee Yeon Hee placed 2nd with a total of 7,054 (26.7%) votes.

The celebrity with the third most votes was none other than Girls’ Generation’s maknae, Seohyun, with 4,693 (17.8%) votes. The singer seems to have captured the hearts of male college students as she is known to have a cute and innocent image, but is also very smart and considerate.

[NEWS] TVXQ, Super Junior, B2ST, 2PM, & more to be featured in ’2012 K-pop Star Entertain Art Show’

Artwork featuring popular K-pop starswill soon become available for the public to see!

Starting June 23rd until August 19th, the Engagement Company, headed by Park Jae Shin, will hold its first art exhibit, titled ’2012 K-pop Star Entertain Art Show’, in the Korean International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) located in Ilsan. The art show will aim to attract both domestic and foreign Hallyu fans with its K-pop inspired paintings.

The artists have attempted to paint realistic, photo-like images of the K-pop stars using the “trompe-l’oeil technique”, a French technique that involves creating an optical illusion so that 2D images appear to be 3D ones. The application of such techniques can be seen in both the 2PM and Son Dam Bi examples provided. The K-pop artists depicted seem to be coming out of the pictures rather than remaining confined within the frames.

There will be three different sections within the art show, including a star zone, a themed zone, and a special zone. The star zone will feature the portraits of 19 artists, including TVXQ, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, f(x), KARA, CNBLUE, B2ST, Baek Ji Young, Im Jae bum, Yoon Do Hyun, Kim Jang Hoon, Huh Gak, and more across a total of 110 pieces. The Engagement Company has made sure to gain permission via signed contracts from the entertainment labels to use each celebrity’s image for the art show.

The special zone will feature pop artists like Mary Kim, Charles Jang, Artnom, and The Jack, who will be presenting K-pop star related pop art projects through this special showcase.

Representatives of the art show commented, “We will provide a special kind of entertainment bordering between reality and illusion for the Korean fans as well as international fans of Hallyu.”
